A walk on Loading Ramp
A walk on loading ramp is a type of loading ramp where a person can walk on it as he or she loads up some form of cargo onto a transportation vehicle or unload it. Walk on loading ramps enable delivery personnel, shippers and receivers to load and unload transportation trucks quickly and easily where docks are unavailable. In order to load heavy cargo, and usually a lot of cargo from and onto hauling trucks, the use of walk on loading ramps can make the process fast, less tiring and safe. A walk on loading ramp is a long flat plane inclined at a very soft angle from the ground level to the height of the transport vehicle or loading bay. Having to walk up the loading ramp with the cargo, as opposed to vertically lifting it up there makes it easy to load even the heavy cargo with much less force and energy. The physics behind this is really very simple, and it involves the mechanical advantage of an inclined plane that allows work to be done using little force that is exerted on a longer distance.
For a well established company, a walk on loading ramp reduces labor costs, minimizes the risk of damage to the goods from drops, increases efficiency and decreases the chances of back injuries to the workers. That eliminates considerably, complains and injury claims workers often make, genuinely or otherwise, after loading and offloading cargo. With the walk on loading ramp, the workers can also make use of hand trucks and wheeled handcarts to carry the cargo onto the transport truck or off it, making the work even easier and much faster. These devices can be easily wheeled up and down the ramp which usually contains a ribbed or a rubber covered surface for better traction. A fast delivery process can translate into more jobs per day and hence more income. Walk on loading ramps make good investments and with the correct size and make for your specific company or business, the loading ramps become a long serving one time investment.
It is important to employ the correct walk on loading ramp for your specific cargo, transport trucks, loading area and loading workforce. The size, weight and portability of the cargo you deal with will determine the load capacity of the loading ramp you can use, its width and the total length of the ramp. Heavier cargo would require a longer walk on the loading ramp to decrease the angle of incline and hence reduce the amount of force needed to load it; and the reverse is true for a lighter cargo, where a shorter ramp will not only be appropriate, but cheaper and quicker to use. The height of the truck also will determine the type and length of the loading ramp. The people who will use the ramp can add to the requirements of the ramp, with features such as body weight, strength and height.

Do all new top-loading washers contain a chemical that is known to be unhealthy?
I just purchased a new top-loading washer - Bravos Automatic Washer from Maytag. The lower part of page 3 of the Use and Care Guide informs one that this product contains a chemical known to the State of California to be unhealthy in a variety of ways. What is this chemical and why does this washer contain it? Do all washers contain it? Can I remove it? I thought that any chemicals involved would be any bleach or detergent that one might use.
