Problem with my oven thermstat?
Hi,
I have problem with my oven thermostat : temperature is set to on no matter how I set the command.
I did some tests on it : in the selector plastic case everything seems ok
my feedback wire with a "rod" at the end (looks like a welding rod) that goes in the oven don't become warm.
1) What is the rod at the end of the feedback wire ? and what is its duty ?
2) It is suppose to become hot at the other end (the one that goes in the control button)

there is a wire with at the end a some kind of "rod" that goes in the oven...
The rod is actually a tube filled with oil that expans as it gets hot and operates the switch that is at the other end called the oven thermostat switch. If it is a thermal couple it will have two wires coming out of it to the switch. Hope this helps.
