Bought stew beef from refrigerator section; put in fridge and froze it. Is it okay to eat after expiry date?

It says on it best before Aug. 8, but when I bought it, it was soft as it wasn't frozen. So I immediately froze it; is it okay to eat now? How do I thaw it? overnight in fridge or hot water?

Its ok to use it as long as it was frozen. You dethaw it in the fridge overnight, then use it the next day.
