Body Style Difference between 1995 Z28 and Base Coupe?
Just out of plain curiosity, what is the difference between the 1995 body style 5.6 liter Z-28 and the 3.4 Liter v-6 Camaro? I mean, i know the Z has the trademark Z-28 stickers, but in terms of overall body style, if i got a Dual Exhaust on there, perhaps a Ram Air kit, and buy the Z-28 stickers am i okay? Or is there more to it? Lastly, my car has 168k on it, i bought it for 1500 dollars, is it worth it? How much Horsepower does the stock 3.4 V6 have? Thanks alot guys...
In that year, the stock 3.4 had around 190-200 hp (I have a book on all makes/models of Camaro, but I'm at work right now). You mentioned the obvious differences - cosmetic. The Z28 has Z28 badges (not stickers - this isn't a Civic...), dual exhaust, and maybe different wheels (although I think they all had the "salad shooter" wheels in 1995). I remember on one year, there was a difference in the way they painted the tops of the cars. Basically, if you have a white V6, the whole car was white, but if it was a Z28, there was a part on the top (perhaps the top and the posts? can't remember) that was always black. Maybe that was the T-top modes... I can't remember.
Basically, the average person is going to recognize a Z28 by its badges, exhaust (dual), and sound, if it is running.
PS - Please don't make a Z28 clone. As cheap as the 1993-1997 Z28s are, just buy a used one instead. That way you get the power that goes with the badge.
