The number of reading available to you depends upon the vehicle manufacturer and the model. Usually 300 readings are available and how many can be read at a time depends upon the scanner you are using. While some of them can read only limited OBD II signals, others show the full range of service codes.
The OBD II connector pin outs determine the choice of scan tool to be used inside your car. There are different types of protocol streams sent out by the device and only with the choice of a proper scan device can you decode the actual fault in the car's performance. Some pins used in the OBD II Connector are mandatory. The others are optional and can be put out as per the vehicle manufacturer's choice.

How do I hook up a LP gas grill to my home LP gas connector?
The house already has a line on the porch, but the grill line doesn't fit on the line on the porch.
They don't fit because it is not smart or recommended to hook house gas to an outdoor grill. In some areas it's illegal to do it. A few years ago legislation required changing fittings so they won't fit. The house fitting is probably one of the old fittings, and your grill has a newer connection. That's why there are LP tanks with different hook up connectors to use on outdoor grills.
