GE Cooktop random firing of ignitor?
I have a GE 30" Gas cooktop. Everything works normal, except a singal click (ignition) happens randomly when not in use. I suspect the ignition module. Any thoughts? Iahve unplugged the power and I'm uasing matches for safety.
You may have gotten moisture in it when cleaning or a pot boiling over. Most only ignite when the knob is turned to highest setting and some will fire if you turn it too high after lighting. Best to call a service tech. If you have a home owners warranty this would most likely be covered.
